Newfoundland and Labrador is an absolute paradise for nature enthusiasts, with enough outdoor adventures to keep you busy for a lifetime! It's all about embracing the great outdoors

For most folks, being outdoorsy is all about embracing the great outdoors and soaking up everything it has to offer. Whether you're hiking through the hills, paddling across a pond, or sunbathing on a sandy beach, nature is packed with endless opportunities for relaxation and adventure. And boy, oh boy, does Newfoundland and Labrador have a ton to offer!

If you're keen on hiking, you'll be in paradise! With hundreds of miles of trails snaking through woods and along the rugged coastline, there's something for hikers of all levels. From the challenging East Coast Trail to the more low-key hikes around the many small communities to Gros Morne National Park and the ultimate trek to the top for the infamous selfie, there's no shortage of breathtaking scenery to take in along the way.

If you're more of a water baby, you'll be starry-eyed by the sea kayaking, whale watching tours, and countless ways to get up close and personal with the marine life of the province. With fjords, bays, inlets, and more, there's always something new to discover.

But remember, being outdoorsy in Newfoundland and Labrador isn't just about the activities you do. It's about soaking up the natural beauty of the province and taking the time to appreciate all that it has to offer. Whether you're gazing at a sunset over the ocean, listening to a rushing waterfall, or simply enjoying the fresh air and open spaces, the great outdoors is a place of endless wonder and joy! A Staycation is good for the soul, I always say that! Just to unplug and be in the moment is true blessing.

Check out these snaps of me being outdoorsy! I love a good ole beach cook up, and trekking through the great outdoors. We even stayed in an off-grid cabin in the woods, hiked for a whole hour to reach it! Now this is not what you call completely roughing it but I did say I am more Outsidey!

Now, If you're a true adventurer at heart and want to get up close and personal with our friends, we've got the hook-up! Join one of our epic adventure companies and explore the back country of Gros Morne, a couple tours even take you to secluded islands. For a real thrill, why not have your own private island all to yourself? And don't worry, we have excursions that are not what we call roughing it completely. Get ready to live like royalty and have a boujee experience you'll never forget!

Let's get in touch with nature without sacrificing comfort

I've given it some thought, I've come across many terms that define people's love for the great outdoors. But "outsidey" is a term that truly encapsulates those who love the outdoors but with a bit of luxury. These are the individuals who are in touch with nature and embrace all its beauty but don't want to sacrifice comfort. Those that are a little high maintenance, I guess. And there is absolutely nothing wrong with that! In fact, I believe I am more outsidey than outdoorsy! There, I said it!

For outsidey people, it's all about exploring the great outdoors with a touch of refinement. They love to hike, bike, and paddle their way through nature, but at the end of the day, they want to relax in a hot tub or a plush bed in a large tent. They want to hear the sounds of nature, breathe in the fresh air, and take in the stunning views, but they don't want to sleep on the cold, hard ground.

For outsidey people, the wilderness is a place of solitude and rejuvenation, but they want to experience it on their terms. They want to escape the hustle and bustle of city life, switch off from technology, and reconnect with nature, but they also want to stay connected with the world. So, they look for glamping options that offer Wi-Fi and other modern amenities. I wrote another blog on a glamping experience a couple of years back at the Ome tents in Burlington, Newfoundland if you would like to check it out here at StaycationNL!
